Thrilling Match Ends 4-3 in Favor of Manchester City

De Bruyne, Jesus, Foden, and Bernardo Silva Score for City; Benzema Nets Brace for Madrid

Manchester City will take a slender lead to the Bernabeu after a thrilling 4-3 win over Real Madrid in their Champions League semi-final first-leg. City led 2-1 at half-time thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus, but Real Madrid fought back in the second half with two goals from Karim Benzema. Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva then scored for City to give them a 4-3 lead heading into the second leg.

The match was played at a frantic pace from the start, with both teams creating chances. City took the lead in the second minute when De Bruyne fired home a low shot from the edge of the area. Jesus doubled City's lead in the 11th minute with a close-range finish after being set up by Foden.

Real Madrid pulled a goal back in the 33rd minute when Benzema converted a penalty after Aymeric Laporte was adjudged to have fouled Vinicius Junior. The goal gave Real Madrid a lifeline, and they continued to press for an equalizer in the second half.

Benzema got his second goal of the game in the 55th minute, finishing off a cross from Dani Carvajal. The goal brought Real Madrid level, but City regained the lead just eight minutes later when Foden scored a stunning goal from outside the area.

Silva then made it 4-3 to City in the 74th minute with a low shot from the edge of the area. The goal gave City a two-goal cushion heading into the second leg, but Real Madrid will still be confident of overturning the deficit in the Bernabeu.

The second leg of the semi-final will be played on Wednesday, May 4th. Real Madrid will need to win by at least two goals to reach the final.
